Inside the production.
Beyond the final frame.
Production-aware unit still and behind-the-scenes photography for film, television, advertising and branded productions. Post Studio creates strong publicity images and an authentic visual record of the people, craft and atmosphere behind the work — without disrupting the set.

A unit still photographer works inside the rhythm of a live production. With a background shaped by photography and film sets, Ilya understands the need to share limited space with directors, actors, camera, sound, lighting and art departments. Coverage can include key scenes, cast portraits, crew at work, wardrobe, props, locations, empty sets and the production details needed by publicity, PR, sales and distribution teams.

03 / SELECTED WORK

Before filming, we confirm access, priority scenes, confidentiality, usage and delivery requirements. On set, the approach is quiet, observant and adaptable, with careful attention to continuity, sound and restricted movement. Selected photographs are edited consistently, backed up and supplied in high-resolution and web-ready formats for press, marketing, social content, production archives and future key art.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Unit stills closely represent scenes and performances for publicity. BTS photography reveals the crew, equipment and process behind the production.
Yes. The working method is built around film-set etiquette: minimal movement, quiet equipment, awareness of sound and lighting, and close coordination with the assistant director and production departments. The aim is to be present when the image happens and otherwise remain invisible.
Yes. Post Studio is Brisbane-based and available for location work across Australia and internationally.
Once a production wraps, access to the exact combination of cast, wardrobe, makeup, sets, locations and lighting disappears quickly. That is why publicity stills are best treated as part of production, not as something to solve later when a poster, festival submission or press request suddenly needs an image.
Unit stills and behind-the-scenes photography also do different jobs. One creates clean, campaign-ready images that can stand on their own. The other records the people and process behind the work. On the right production, both can be created without getting in the way of camera, sound, performers or the shooting schedule.
They need strong expressions, clean composition, useful crops and enough variation to work across press, key art, festivals, websites and social campaigns.
Crew, equipment, direction, rehearsals and the spaces around the take become part of the archive and often tell a story audiences never see on screen.
The photographer needs to know when to work, when to disappear and which moments are worth waiting for. Production awareness matters as much as the camera.
